UFC 93 fight by fight; Jeremy Horn Vs. Rousimar Palhares

This one is definitely one of those "gatekeeper" fights. The UFC clearly sees something special in Palhares. They seem to be putting him up against Horn to see it he truly has the potential that they believe he does.

A look at Jeremy Horn
Horn is a MMA veteran and a UFC veteran. His "official" career record is 88-18-5 but he has been fighting for a long time. Back in the day the record books are a bit shady, so you can be assured he has fought even more than that. He made his debut back at UFC 17: Redemption in a loss to Frank Shamrock.

He has never really gotten a winning streak behind him in the UFC this century. However he does hold some notable wins including Chuck Liddell back in 1999.

A look at Rousimar Palhares
Palhares is a Brazilian Top Team standout. He is 1-1 in the UFC after a loss to Dan Henderson in his last fight this summer. Palhares is notably short for the 185 weight class, coming in at just 5'8. I suppose that height is neutralized when Palhares is on top of his opponent, on the ground working his bjj skills.

Fight Odds
Palhares is a big favorite. At press time the odds are:
Jeremy Horn (+325)
Rousimar Palhares (-450)
